The screenings of our films in Sofia

The feature film ‘Red Garden’ and the short films ‘Lady Next Door’, ‘My Grief is Light’, ‘Above and Below’, ‘Dmitrov 86’ have been screened at 9th the Sofia MENAR Film Festival on January 16, 18, 27, 28. The festival took place on January 12-29 in Sofia, Bulgaria. Our films have been screened in ‘In Focus: Central Asia & Azerbaijan’ program of the festival.

On January 16, there was held Azerbaijan Film Night. Bulgarian state and government officials, the representatives of the country's leading NGOs and mass media, heads of diplomatic missions accredited in Sofia, Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Republic of Bulgaria Nargiz Gurbanova, representatives and members of the Bulgaria-Azerbaijan Friendship Society attended the event.

 

 


Sofia MENAR Film Festival makes Bulgarian audience familiar with the culture and traditions of the Islamic world. The program of Sofia MENAR Film Festival presents the best of Middle East and North Africa cinema productions, including feature films, documentaries and short projects.

The films were produced with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

‘Red Garden’

The film was coproduced by Azerbaijan and Russia at ‘Azerbaijanfilm’ Studio named after Jafar Jabbarly and ‘WeiT Media’.

The film also has been screened at the International film festivals in Kazakhstan, Germany, Turkey, Egypt and Bangladesh.

The films internationally premiered in ‘Focus’ section of the Cottbus Film Festival in Germany.
